70-200 2.8 Lens for Nikon
Sorry I have been away for quite sum time trying to give back my deed to bank in Florida(successful)

I want to buy either a Tamron or Sigma 70-200 2.8...I have seen several but 1 Sigma with OS is alot more than without the os..Any suggestions as to a lens on a Nikon D5100..Is the OS worth the extra say $400 or $500,and if not a Sigma or Tamron>> Thanks so much for your consideration

have you tried out any of these lenses. i have tried the sigma 70-200os and its a heavy lens, in the end i settled for the canon 70-200os f4L. i can carry this around all day

I just got the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 and it is AMAZING ... why not pay a little extra and get the real deal?

Why do you specifically need a 70-200mm 2.8 lens?

Which one?
With the D5100 not having a drive motor built-in camera you will have to focus manually with the non-OS, VR model lens. Sigma as I have seen has done quite well. No first hand experience by me though.
