I HAVE a 3040 am considering getting a
B-300 WILL it work properly to get good pictures what will the magnification be with the camera at full zoom and what would be needed to mount it. thanks |

The B300 should give good pictures from the Olympus C3040. I have tried it with a C3040 and an OpticZoom and that gave fantastic results so it should be great just with the C3040, albeit with a lower overall zoom. It will give you 1.7X zoom on top of the 3X zoom you have on the C3040 i.e. about 5.1X.
You will need a standard Olympus connector tube (called a conversion lens adaptor CLA-1) for the camera, and then the required step up ring(s) from the connector tube (43mm) to the B300 lens (55mm). Kevin UK |

Just ot add to my reply above, the 5.1X zoom I quoted was at full telephoto.
Also, be aware that as I have not tried the B300 on its own with the C3040, I am not sure if you get any vignetting. I would think that it would be fine at full zoom but may give some vignetting at some point as you zoom back. Kevin UK |

You can get details of the B300 and even buy a new one at www.eagleeyeuk.com - I have just bought one.
