cheap (but good) IR filter
 

Does anyone know of a good quality inexpensive infrared filter I can use with the FZ1? Right now the Hoya is out of my budget.

If someone is in the NOVA area, would it be possible for me to borrow one?? I have an opportunity to go shoot some old barns and thought it would make good IR material! :)

If you are just looking for something to use for a while, perhaps you could get a polyester filter (at least I think it is polyester, the ones that are kind of like a gelatine filter). They are basically a sheet of plastic that has the same properties as filters that you can cut to size. One that is wratten 89b is equivalent to the hoya r72 that many use. I have heard of people taping or glueing them to a uv filter or even onto the camera lens itself.
