Default Complications for DSC-F717 Lense Add-ons

I've read snippets of folks who have added on additional lenses (telephoto and wide angle) and not being able to focus. Still awaiting the arrival of my new F717 and seriously contemplating a wide angle and 2X lense, what capabilities I would give up for that? Are those "Titanium" lenses advertised with most online etailers from the Digital/Crystal/Professional Optics any good? If so, is one better than the other? What are some other better options for wide angle, 2Xand/or telephoto besides the Olympus option offered in another post? Thanks!

Hi there
Have bought a tele lens (pro) from raynox for my sony F707.
Now it has a nice place in the closet. Not on my camera.
Why?? It works like shit.
The Carl zeis optic is no match for the raynox teleconvertor.
Spent your money for something else like the olympus conversion tele lens.

Got a feeling a lot of add-on lenses are principally made for videocam use, where optical quality isn't very important (playback resolution is very low compared to a digital still). Unless the add-on is specifically made for a stills digicam (i.e. Oly add-ons, Nikon add-ons), be very cautious.
