Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had used either the Titanium .48x Wide Angle Lens or the Titanium 2x Telephoto Lens made by Digital Optics? Here are the specs: Titanium .48x Wide Angle Lens .48x professional wide angle lens High quality crystal optics Fully multi-coated 7 elements, 5 groups Full macro mode AF / Infrared compatible High resolution precision optics, day or night Great for every type of photographic situation 58mm front threads for filters Lens bag included Lens covers are included Made in Japan Brand new, 15 year warranty and Titanium 2x Telephoto Lens 2x professional telephoto lens High quality crystal optics Fully multi-coated 7 elements, 5 groups AF / Infrared compatible High resolution precision optics, day or night Great for every type of photographic situation 58mm front threads for filters Lens bag Included Lens covers are included Made in Japan Brand new, 15 year warranty They sound decent however, I am unsure without actually handling the item. What telephoto and/or Wide Angle lenses do you highly suggest? My camera is the Olympus c-3040 Thanks Keith ![]() |

Hi Keith,
I also have a 3040 and have used the Crystal Optics Teleconverter with it. It is a very solid lens and there is virtually no vignetting. However, I was a little dissapointed with the image quality. I have an Olympus C-180 Teleconverter that takes clearer crisper shots. My thought was to try to stack the two, it worked but the vignetting was really bad and the zoom wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. Greg |

I owned a pair of the Titanium lenses (2X tele and .48X wide angle) I am somewhat satisfied with the quality of the lense, but I am definitely not convinced that the 2X tele is actually 2X. I took some shots with and without the 2X tele and the image appears to be about 1.5X rather 2X as I would have expected, taken from the same angle and distance.
BTW, the .48 wide angle lens did present a little vignetting with my G2 set at max wide angle. Johnny |
