Today I received the DCR1540 and a PLP690 (52-55 with polarizer and MC protector).

I'm sick at home so I made a few shots of our shop through glass (150mtr) and to make it worse it was very cloudy outside.

If I understand correctly I would have more light with the raynox lens ISO186 vs ISO200, maybe someone can explain this ?

The pictures are a bit shaken (coughing) and not very representative, but to get an idea it's enough I hope.

For the price I'm pleasently surprised, although I would have hoped for a bit more zoom range....

I would be interested in seeing more results when you are no longer coughing. Because if your hand was shaking, the picture still looks good.

Using a 1540 gains quality but after all, it is still only 1.54, not 2X or 3X, so one has to make these choices. I would like to see a side by side comparison of the Raynox 1540 against their 1850 from the same exact distance.

Also, could you take some more meaningful polarized pictures such as submerged objects?

I have been playing a bit more and the 1.54x is enough for most situations, I will however be adding the Crystal Vue 8x soon.

The 1.84x lens is not suitable for my camera (which allready has a 8x zoom).

The polarizer works wonders for for example cars and reflections.

I will try to post some results soon.

I will test my HP 850 and Olympus TCON-17 soon (perhaps in july !)

I have seen some pics from Panasonic FZ1 with Olympus B300 (the "old" TCON-17) and the pics are really greats !!

And I have a friend who have a TCON-17... :roll:
