Lens Rental

Has anyone used LensRentals.com? I am thinking about renting a lens or two to test them out before I purchase them. Can you tell me your experiences? Do they require a full deposit? I read the FAQ and I couldn't find any information on this. It just said they have to verify that you are a legit person.

[EDIT] I read the very bottom of the FAQ. They stated their stance on deposits.

What lenses are you thinking about renting?

Because once you have them , you will want to buy them no doubt :P

I've never personally used lensrentals.com, but a friend of mine has and had no complaints. I'd be surprised if they didn't take a deposit that approaches the value of the lens.

You didn't mention what kind of camera you're using, but I have an a200 and rented recently from alphalensrental.com. They deal only in equipment for Minolta and Sony AF products. For the deposit, they authorized a charge that was close to the lens replacement value but didn't actually make the charge. I think his FAQ describes the process. I was very happy with the experience and will absolutely use him again.

Not exactly what you were looking for, but like I said, my friend's experience with the outfit you mentioned was satisfactory as well.
