I am looking ant getting a telephoto lens for my camera. I have a friend that got an Olympus lens for theirs and it does great but when I look into it I find that it only has a year warranty. I have found many other lenses with much better warranties. One of them isa Opteka 2.2x High Definition² Professional Telephoto Lens.
Has anyone heard anything about this company and the quality of their products? |

As far as the warranty on the Olympus TCON is concerned - there are no moving parts in the lens. In my opinion if the lens works OK when you get it, there should be no problems later unless it gets dropped - then the warranty doesn't apply. Buy it with a credit card that provides additional warranty coverage and you should be able to get at least another year warranty.

I think you should buy the tcon17c from olympus!!
I had the dx6490 for a year and used the tcon17 from olympus and I personally think that its the best lens for the kodak dx6490!! Now I have the kodak p850 and I am still using the tcon17.. You should visit the kodak section of this forum if you have more question about your camera! Here is my dx6490 gallery http://boily.myphotoalbum.com/, if you go in the wildlife section, all the pictures were taken with the tcon 17!! (the 3/4 with the dx6490 and tcon and 1/4 with the p850 and tcon) Hope it can help you:-) Boily |
