I purchased an 58mm short tube adaptor for my Canon 3IS. Will a close up 58mm lense or lenses work taking photos of insects? Has anyone tried this? - gle56

I have used a Raynox DCR-250 on several cameras (includinga borrowedS3IS,but primarily onmy Sony F828 ) and it works very well indeed.

I have not tried their newer lenses (such as the MSN500) shown below the 250 (look about 2/3 of the way down this page: http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/digital/S2is/index.htm ).

Be sure to look at their sample pictures ... also, you might searchthis forumfor posts and pictures using this add-on lens — there was a plethora of them about a year or so ago.
