Hi all,
I ordered the Raynox PLP-300 MC Protector and Polarizer Filter Kit and am wondering if they make a UV filter that I can order? Also, does anyone else have Raynox filters and lenses? Ifso, how good are they and how well made are they? Thanks, Joe |

I only know people who have bought their lenses, and they are very happy with them, especially their DCR-6600Pro .66x wide angle...it has no noticable barrel distortion, even their .72x has some BD.
Most people only use UV filters as protectors for the lens, the same way the MC protector does...the camera lens already has some UV protection. Personally I use a Skylight filter because it warms skintones. |

Mike,
Well, I got the polorized filter because I want to do scenery photography but would like a regular lens/filter to protect the lens on my camera from getting scratches and dust whhile I shoot human subjects. Is there a regular UV filter or just plain lens I can use to protect such things from effecting my camera? I have heard from several people that a UV filter also makes for crisper photos but not sure on that. Can I take photos of people with a polorized filter? From, Joe |

Since you said you order the PLP-300 kit, it INLCUDES a plain, multi-layered coated filter which is used to protect the lens, http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/digi...mcfiltereg.htm
There's no problem with taking pictures of people or anything with a polarizer...all it does is block light rays coming from a certain angle. However, it's not so good in low light situations as it can cost a stop or two (I use a combination of two polarizers to reduce light when the scene is too bright for the desired effect. |

Hi Mike,
I saw that it included a clear multi-coated filter but it didn't say that it was a UV filter so I didn't think it was one. Thanks for clearing that up. How do I accomidate losing a couple stops? I'm still new to photography. Thanks for the help. I can't wait to try this kit out. From, Joe |

http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=10842 I've commented at some length on the Raynox DCR6600Pro. Image quality appears to vary quite a bit depending upon your camera. Check out the Raynox site; these folks do a nice job of displaying sample images for MANY cameras. Damien* |
