I am looking into getting a solar filter for my camera and was wondering if you could tell me which brand of solar filters are the best. Also, I plan to use this on my 35mm slr and each lense has a different filter size. Would you suggest that I get a 58mm filter for use on my largest lense and pick up step-up rings for use on my other lenses? Thanks in advance for any help.

B+W and Hoya (their "Pro" line) both make good filters.
Step up rings seems reasonable to me, but I've never used them before. The question (to me) is do you want to trade a cost savings vs. the inconvience of having to move the filter all the time? If you do, then it might work for you. I'd be interested in what others think. Eric |
