Just FYI, I tried a KUT-300 HI in a local camera shop with my Canon A70. The results were terrible, chromatic fringing on all high-contrast areas. I took a shot of several shelves full of camera bags, with little white tags hanging off - the shot came out with the tags appearing to have a red stripe on one side and a blue stripe on the other.

Perhaps, mating this lens to a different camera might give you a different result, but I would NOT buy this lens without trying it on your camera first, and examining the result very closely.

I had the same result with a Kenko 2x lens in another store.

I too was wondering about lenses for the V1. After searching eBay a bit I found these lenses:

The Kenko 3x noted above, and a .5x Kenko
Digital Optics .45x, .5x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x lenses
Opteka 2x and 3x
Raynox .72x, 1.85x, DCR-250 Super Macro
Sony 1.7x and .7x

I'm new to all this and was wondering if anyone knows anything about these Brands - from what I've read here Kenko isn't very good, and the prices on eBay lead me to believe Digital Optics are also very cheap lenses. Any help would be appreciated

Please buy original 1,7 and 0,7. You get proper adapter rings and high quality lens.

Best rezults.
You have good optics and you do not need cheapo lens in front.
