I have a Sony HX100 and I want to put a rectangle lens hood on the existing fixed lens. I have search all over the internet to find information as to the size of the existing lens. The best possibility that I have come up with is that the lens is 58mm.
Is the correct ? ![]() Thanks, JW |

The Sony Cyber-shot HX100 doesn't have a filter mounting thread or other conventional mechanism for attaching a lens hood, and since the lens retracts into the body when you turn the camera off, if you were able to rig something up, it could pop off occasionally, and possibly even damage the camera.
Why do you want to attach a lens hood? Are you experiencing some lens flare?
