I would appreciate a step by step, how to program my F717 with the HGD 1758 teleconversion lens. I just can't seem to get it to function. Many Thanks.

Hi JayVee. You'll probably need to describe what you're doing and the results you're getting before you can get much help. Is your problem focussing, vignetting, attaching the teleconverter...?

Thanks Jim for your advice. After following the few instructions from Sony, I just don't feel I'm getting the 2 X power of the teleconversion lens. Focus is also a problem. Perhaps I'm expecting too much from the lens. It is an expensive accessory thus my higher expectatations. Any thoughts?
Thank You Jayvee |

You really don't "need" to program anything - just put the teleconverter on and observe the LCD or viewfinder. Zoom in until the shadows in the corner go away or further.
The only thing "programming" does is limit the travel on the zoom to prevent getting wide angle shots with vignetting (black border). Autofocus, metering, white balance and such are not affected by the presence or absence of a teleconverter. Post a couple shots and maybe we can see if your results are somewhat typical or if there is a problem. Lin |
