I have enjoyed reviewing the forum for information. I have a Sony DSC f717 and am considering a Tele Photo lens. has any one used or know anything about the Sony VCL HGD 1758?
I don't want to make a mistake. My main use would be outdoors. Thanks for the help! Trique Daddi |

VCL-HGD1758 (be careful "D" is for digital photo, there is a no-"D" version.

Thanks for the advice. My purpose for it though will be at higher than a 3x zoom level. I saw in a couple different places that the Rayonex (spelling) brings blue into the pic with this camera so I obviously shyed away from it. I went ahead and ordered the Sony VCL- HDG1758 so we will begin working with it next week. I'll post my results.
Thanks for the input! This is a great forum. Our hobby isn't "cheap" so the more research the better! Sometimes it isn't possible to demo products ahead of time. Trique Daddi |

I hope this works.I am trying to attach a photo. I pruchased the Sony Tele-photo lens VCL HGD1758 for my DSC f717. I am happy with my purchase. It gives me another 1.7x magnification and increases the range of the camera nicely..Picture clarity is good also. Below is a link for the pic I tried to attach if it failed. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...36650205uVapqk I took other photos yesterday at SeaWorld Fl. from the skytower with very good results and was able to reach the back pools at the whale stadium with good results also. It is on the heavy side so it takes some effort to steady. Shooting different locations in the stadium and "motion" with the whales jumping really isn't a sceneario for a tripod but with a little concentration you can help steady the camera with hand placement. We are going to the Florida keys next month so a tripod will be useful for the spectacular sunsets down there. Happy picture taking! Trique Daddi |

Hey Trique Daddi,
I know you must be enjoying your tele lens. You made a wise choice. There is no better tele converter out there for the 717 as far as quality goes. I've had mines for a few months now; yeah it's heavy but my only complaint is ..... I even want more zoom now  |

It is really sharpe! We are going to the Florida Keys mid May. I can't wait to get down there with it. I am going to take my tripod though to use with Sunsets.
I've found the Lens also works with short movies.I was afraid to try some of the other lenses just due to my ignorance of what was compatible. The forum has really helped. TRique Daddi Sony Dsc f717 |
