Hi, I just purchased a Canon S3 tonight.
After getting the batteries/SD card/strap in place and playing with it for an hour, I noticed a partial print/smudge on the lens. I used to have a Canon Rebel XT back in the day I used for photography and it has some Hoya filters with it that were much easier to clean than the lens itself. What do I need to have a filter on the S3? It doesn't have threads on the lens like my XT did. Thanks. |

![]() you need a lens adapter the lens adapter can be used to attach add-on lenses and filters, it will protect the zoom lens housing (particularly if you get a metal one) and a UV filter will help protect the lens itself lensmateonline.com is worth checking out. They do a 58mm and 52mm adapterand you may be able to reuse filters you already have with one of these. Canon do their own adapter but it is a palstic one. there is quite a lot of info on lensmate so check it out ![]() cheers Chris |
