im considering getting a lens of a SLR and reversing it to give me better magnification. what type of lens works best when reversed? what factors come into consideration?what do you use?

I don't recommend reversing lenses - the depth of field is too small (around 0,2mm or less).
But if you have testet +4and(!) +8 dioptersand the results were perfect ;-) : Buy a used SLR lens with f:1,8 or better f:1,4. The open aperture will reduce vignetting. Just read this: http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam.../Reversal.html Sven |
