Hello,

I would like to purchase a wide angle lens add-on for my Canon A95. Will this degrade the picture quality? Which is the best one for this camera? Does anyone have sample pictures using a add-on lens with a similar camera?

Thanks in advance.

On the Canon website it says that WC-DC52is the standard wide converter for my camera:

It's $99

On another thread members were talking about Raynox as a good alternative. Looking at the Raynox website shows the DCR-6600PRO as a possibility for my camera:

It's also $99 Which is better? The photo at the Raynox website promoting their lens is too small to really tell if the quality is good. At least I can tell the barrel distortion appears low. There is no sample photo taken with the Canon product. That scares me.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

After more searching of this forum I found out that LensMateOnline has some examples:

The Raynox 6600 appears to have the lowest "fun house effect". That's important to me.

I also heard good things about a Nikon WC-E63 on this forum. I'm going to search for examples with that lens.
