I currently have a uv filter on my fz30. do i loose brightness or exposure using this type of filter. like can i use this inside and stil get the same results without it

It depends. For every filter there associated a "Filter Factor":

Please notethese values are their results under certain predefined testing conditions and light of certain bands of wavelength,they may have variation in practical use.

The difference is so negligible, just fit and forget.

The UV filter has essentially a 1x exposure factor. So just put it, shoot and forget. In any event, all (well, most anyway) metering is done through the lens, so any factor that does exist is automatically taken care of.
