Hi,

I'm a newbie at photography and use a Powershot A620. I got a cheap set of 52mm Opteka lenses on ebay (they are crappy but they work OK for what I shoot). I am now upgrading to a G7 but I know the Canon lens adapter is for the 58mm Canon lenses. Should I just sell the Optekas with the 620 and get the Canon lenses or is ther an adapter for 52mm out there somewhere? (Niether Opteka or their vendor will respond to my emails about this) Any info would be great.

My "vote" would be to sell your Opteka lenses with your Powershot A620. You can get a step-down ring which would allow you to mount your 52mm lens on your G7's 58mm lens adapter but I suspect you'll encounter significant vignetting when less than full telephoto zoom. Even then (at full zoom), you may encounter some. Look to a Canon add-on or maybe the Oly TCON-17.
