Default teleconverter for Nikon 5700

Can I put TCON-17 on UR-E8 Nikon standard adapter? Does anyone tried this? Do I need some other tubes or adapters to do this?

It won't work because the UR-E8 uses a weird thread size that no one produces step rings for. To use TCON-17, you'd better buy the Coolfix adapter for 5700 @ http://members.rogers.com/nextphoto/coolfix5700.htm
Since this adapter has a 62mm thread, you will need a 62-55 step-down ring. Your TCON-17 mounts on the 55mm thread of this ring.

No, the UR-E8 has a 50mm thread, a very unpopular one.
