Default tcon-17 or raynox 1850 pro.....

i'm looking to add some zoom to my c5050, and am trying to decided which one to get...any suggestions/recommendations?? one more guestion, with these "add-on" lenses, do you have to always shoot at "full zoom" or can you zoom out a bit before vigneting(?) occurs?
thanks,
rick

There is no doubt that the TCON-17 is one of the best 1.5-2.0X teleconverter. I am sure many people will tell you the same.

Depending on your camera (I do not have a c5050), it is likely you will not be able to use the full zoom range. In general, only the tele portion can be used without vignetting.

I have the C4040 and Raynox Pro1850. Vigneting will occur until you have zoom halfway throught the zoom of the camera.

The Raynoz is a good lens but I would have purchased the tcon 17 if it were available when I bought the Raynox.

Try JandR electronics. Do a search for the tcon17 at www.dealtime.com. They have had them in stock for under $100.

Hmmm.... must've gotten the last one- - it arrived Monday! J&R and Global Computers were the only companies that showed them in stock when I was looking for one last week. I searched cnet shopper for TCON 1.7 to find mine.
