Default Telephoto for N4500

Does anyone have experience with the Eagle (5x) and Kenko (8x) teleconverters with the Coolpix 4500?

Default No

No but I have the Nikon 2x and 3x telephoto lenes and like them on my 4500. I also have started using a ScopeTronix scope with a Nikon adapter and while I have done very little with it, I like the ease of focusing and setup. My past experience with small dia telephoto lenes has been the need for lots of light.

The quality of Kenko 8X (Kenko 832) is not very good, and, in many cases, is worse than the CrystalVue 8X. While the EagleEye 5X is sharper and brighter than the CrystalVue 8X, the EagleEye is very expensive and has worse light fall-off in the corners. Take a look at a couple of comparison pages in the "Odd Stuffs" section of my Coolpix 4500 user guide for the details. I do not have a page on EagleEye 5X yet and am working on it. My general feeling is that its price/performance ratio is too high to many Coolpix 4500 shooters, especially that it is only a 5X.

I have a Nikon 4500 and I attached a TC-E2 and Canon TCDC58N together.

The pictures show what the combo looks like and a shot at all of the focal lenghts for comparrison.

38mm, 155mm, 310mm, 542.5mm
If it ever gets warm again I will take some proper tripod shots
The photos are at
