Default Anyone used a 500D filter with Powershot Pro1?

Hi has anyone tried out the 500D closeup filter on the Canon powershot Pro1 as yet?

I am curious to know if there is any improvements over the Macro settings on the Pro1.

I don't have a Pro1 and cannot comment on its macro capability. But, the 500D is one of the best close-up lenses. The problem is that if your camera is already in the macro mode, adding a close-up lens will not help significantly in terms of magnification (or reproduction ratio). Normally, the camera lens is zoomed all the way in to the maximum focal length when using a close-up lens. In this way, the magnification is the maximum. Unfortunately, with such a big zoom, the image quality of the lens at the maximum focal length would not be ideal even though magnification may be the maximum.

Hi CK.

I own the Powershot Pro1 & it's macro mode is pretty good but I am keen at getting even closer.

I read on the Pro1 manual that the 500D will need a lens adaptor to work corectly.

I am fairly new at Macro.

Thanks for the link to your site, I have found it very interesting reading.
