My father owns an Olympus C-2100UZ. I'd like to get him filters for father's day, as he seems enamored with mine!

The filter threading is 49mm, but should I get a step-up adapter to avoid vignetting (e.g. 49-55mm step-up) because of the lenses' size?

Thank you much

Johnny

Greetings,

I have the C700 version of that camera, same optics but without the stabilizaton. The angle of view only goes out to about normal, 38mm equivalent, so vignetting should not be a problem. The lens housing is huge on that camera for the needs of the antivibration mecanism, not for the optical elements.

Hope this helps.

Richard S.

I have the C-2100UZ and I have used filters both ways, the standard 49mm and the 55mm with the step up ring. I did not have any problems with vignetting either way.
