Can someone give me suggestions on what kind of filters are avaliable for my c-750 and wich ones are the best? I was going to buy a 3 pack of lenses off of ebay untill I found this site and read your posts. Since then I have purchased the Tcon 17, and the CLA4 from 17 photo.com. Thank you for the warnings about the digital telephoto lenses off of ebay. You guys saved me a lot of wasted money. Thank you.

You should really ask this in the Olympus forum...you'll get more responses there from an Olympus friendly crowd.

First of all you should keep the CLA-4 and a UV (or Skylight) filter on the camera at all times to protect it.

Then you may want a polarizer.

Colour filters don't work unless you use a manual white balance; the auto white balance will compensate for the coloured filter, but then again coloured filters aren't really necessary with digital.

You can get into the Cokin creative filters for really playing around, but most of the creative filters can be duplicated on the computer afterwards.

Except for the polarizer (and UV for protection of course), I can duplicate the effects for most of filters and do a better job with more control on the computer.

For lenses check out Raynox...they have a 2.2x (DCR-2020Pro), a great .66x wide angle (DCR-6600Pro), macro lenses, etc., and they show you what each lens is like on your specific camera, and examples with and without the lens on it. http://www.raynox.co.jp

I also own a c750uz as well as a tcon1.7. The filter I use 99% of the time is a Hoya polarization 55mm. I own a uv filter as well but I bet its only been on the camera about twice. I also like to play with the hoya nd8 filter once and a while for some day time long expossures.... also fun with moving water. :-)

Thanks a million guys. That really helps alot. I was so bummed about my C-750 purchase at first because I spent 600.00 dollars on it and 3 weeks later the Rebel digital SLR came out. But now I see that there are a lot of options for my olympus and I think I will be happy with it. Any way, that rebel is so big and bulky. My olympus just tucks right away.

thanks again

You'll find many happy C-7x0 users at the group I mentioned above, Zhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/Oly_C-700/

Some have upgraded to the Rebel and other dSLRs, but most keep their C-7x0 as a more pocketable camera, especially since you can't get a 380mm lens that portable in a dSLR.
