I have recently purchased a Minolta Z1 (thanks to several posts on this forum and Steve's camera review).

I am only just getting more serious about taking pictures etc so forgive me if I ask any stupid questions.

One of my main interests in taking landscape pictures and was thinking of getting the wide angle lens to get more in the picture. Having read a few comments on the forum I was a bit concerned that it may be a wasteof money.

I would apprecaite an honest opinion from anyone who has used it.

Many thanks

Gill

Take a look at this message about soft corners and the message following about the shadow cast by the add on lens using thein camera flash. Whether the zcw-100 is worth $100 plus is left up to you.

Thanks Puck and Tik for the advice and the pictures you have posted they have been very helpful.

I think I might go for the lens as I am taking more outside shots and see what happens.

I suggest looking at the Raynox line. Their .66x (DCR-6600 Pro) is one of the best on the market (with almost no barrel distortion). They also have a new 2.2x (DCR-2020 Pro):
