I JUST PURCHASED A CANON A85. I AM LOOKING AT ADDITIONAL LENSES FOR THIS MODEL. I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO GET MORE ZOOM, AND ALSO TAKE REAL CLOSE PHOTOS AS WELL. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT EACH OPTIONAL LENSE WILL DO . I UNDERSTAND THAT THE WIDE CONVERTER WILLFIT THE SUBJECT IN THE PICTURE. WHAT DOES THE CLOSE UP LENSE, AND THE TELECONVERTER LENSE DO? I AM VERY NEW TO THIS.

Lizabeth,

I bought both a Teleconverter and a Wide-Angle lens for my point and shoot cameras. The factory Teleconverter basically took it up to the next ‘zoom' step. The wide-Angle was like taking a step back where you couldn't, like in a Cathedral.

Four things I noticed:

1. These lenses made my camera immense, and added bulk to what I carried.

2. The lenses couldn't be left on for full operability. In other words, I couldn't leave the Wide-Angle on and zoom, or conversely, I couldn't go down much from full zoom with the Teleconverter.

3. I rarely use the Teleconverter, but frequently use the Wide-Angle.

4. You can't (easily) put any attachments on either of my lenses.

My cameras are different than yours, take these as generalities.

No experience with the Macro lens.
