Hi, I recently recieved a Sanyo iDshot camera for Christmas and was looking into purchasing a Fisheye lens for it, but all I have been able to find are a Telephoto, Wideangle, and Layered Covered lenses and also a $400 Fisheye made by Raynox. After looking around a little bit more it seems as though the Sanyo cameras can use Canon lenses? Is this true?

Hmmmm....

I didn't even know this camera existed. It's an interesting design (appears to have been releasedaround October 2000)..

Of course, you'll have loads of barrel distortion using a fisheye lens (but that's why most people buy them -- for the fisheye look).

According to this page, it appears to be threaded for 52mm lens accessories:

The 52mm diameter lens ring allows you the option of fitting color filters or effect filters, conversion lenses, and other accessories (all optional).

If it is in fact using standard 52mm threads, then you'll be able to find conversion lenses from a variety of manufacturers. But, you'll also have a wide variety of optical quality. A Fisheye lens is not going to have very good characteristics to begin with. So, a cheap lens is going to probably deteriorate your optically quality significantly (chromatic aberrations, image softness, flare, etc.).

I'd make sure that it can use 52mm lens lens accessories. Any camera shop should be able to verify this for you by trying a filter or lens threaded for 52mm. Then, you can search around forFisheye Lenses with 52mm threads (some of the really cheap ones are under $100.00, but you get what you pay for). You could probably use a stepup ring for larger thread sizes, too (for example, a 52-58mm stepup ring for a lenswith 58mm threads).

It looks like you posted this question in more than one forum. So, I'll combine the posts and move them to the Add On Lenses Forum, where you'll have a betterchance of getting responses.
