I would say the SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH .7 is good cause thats the one Kodak
recomends and I'm willing to bet they tested it
is it worth the $$$ I dont know

yea any 55mm ( if you have the 55mm adpater) or 52mm ( if you have the 52mm adpater ) will fit but as to how well the will do it hard to say
I have a 46mm ( I uses a stepdown ring from 55mm) .6 Promaster
it does fine with minum vignetting I just have to zoom out very little for it to go away

Boily I have a Raynox DCR-720 wide angle lens, used with a 52mm step down ring for the DX6490 (I have the 55mm lens adapter).
Its ok, there is slight vignetting which can be overcome with a little zoom.

When funds allow I will be buying the SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH XENAR, If you do a search in the kodak forum you will find some comparison pics,or ask nicely and someone will post some for you,we are a friendly bunch of people :-)

I'd say that this is a great lens. It captures a lotof light and it seems to pull just about anything into focus. You are addinga big piece ofglass to your camera, which means that you will be introducing some level of rectilinear (barrel) distortion and chromatic aberration, but compared to some add-ons, remarkably little.

This lens does a great job when used as intended, and can produce some interesting effects if you're feeling adventurous.

Cheers,

Go with the Schnieder. It's a great lens. As my Pappy used to say buy quality and have fewer regrets!!!

On the aux. lens note that the name is German but they are not made in Germany.

This does not mean they are bad but I am sure if you had the time you could find the same lens made for other importers/distributors.

If you order the right amountyou could have your name on them too.

I have the Kodak 2x aux. and think it would make a great shot glass or inkwell.
