Ok after some testing
the Bower is a good lens I'd say for any camera less then 10X
my Tokina just barely beat it out
(remember the Tokina 2X is a Video Converter from 10 years go for my RCA Camcorder)

45ft shot:
Tokina

Bower

Tokina 2X at approx 40% zoom (at 50% rear bummper is at left edge of photo
and front bumper is at right side edge) I mean on the edge barely fits

Merkury 2X at approx 50% zoom

Bower 2X at approx 50% zoom

200yd shot

Tokina 2X at approx 95% not completely full optical

Merkury 2X at 100% optical

Bower 2X at 100% optical ( rain does wonders huh )

Last 2 images are a set low light test

Bower done pretty good
I am impressed
in some ways it out done the Tokina
but it's not as strong as the Tokina 2X

again I say the Bower is a great lens
low light Bower done good also
but my camera got to where it wouldnt focus with the Bower as it got darker
and it would with the Tokina

also the Bower 2X has minumal vingetting
This is the 52mm Bower 2X

Merkury is out of the game

Hi, could you tell me what's your camera?

I think it's fundamental to know the pair camera-tele to evaluate the test

Kodak DX6490
useing the 55mm (Kodak) adapter and 55mm to 46mm stepdown and
a 46mm to 37mm step down for the Tokina

52mm (Bower) adapter with the Merkury
52mm (Bower) adapter with the Bower

well after some testing this weekend
the Bower is very good for less than 10X
I'd say it would be good for upto 6X if not 8X
but that last bit it loses quality, it gets the purple outline
