If I were to buy the tele adapter for the A-95 would my older 2.4 tele lens from my A-60 Canon work and focus OK?

if it worked good on your old camera
then odds are if the new camera is about the same lens size
and about the same zoom factor I'd say yes
thats one good thing about a addon lens
if you get a good one it will last for a long time

Thank you for the reply. Now Canon has replaced the A-95 with the A-610-620 series that uses the same adapter as the G-6. Do you think if I were to buy that adapter with a step down ring to fit the Canon 2.4 tele that it would work with the A-610. I know there are a lot of ifs and maybees but your thoughts would be appreciated.

I wish I did not reply to this thread too late.

I was A80 user using TC-DC52 (the 2.4x tele) before. The image iscrisp and distortion is very minimal. BUT there is a problem, due to the less than 25mm clear glass aperture on the rear side of TC-DC52 only the last 2 zoom stops (out of 7) works without vignetting!! As for A95 the lens is exactly the same one as A80 so it is same scenario.

Recently I acquired A610 and the lens on it is DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME as A80 (or I won't buy it). With the 2.4x tele you might be able to get the last two zoom stops works without vignetting but wait, do you remember now the A610/A620 has 4x zoom? So in effect you will possibly be using them well (if optically fits) only for composite focal length from 300mm upwards (35mm equiv.) without need of cropping away the dark corners.

Regards,

Rudolf.
