Default Home made lenses

hello
well i have a minolta dimage X, it's a small camera so the zoom i snot very powerfull. Well my question is, anyone here ever made a lense? I can't buy one cause there's no lenses for this camera but as i want a bigger zoom i'm thinking in make one lense.
anyone ever did this and can give me some advices?
i tried to take a picture trought my binocules and the result was cool so i thought that maybe it's possible to make a lense.
if anyone has some tips please tell me

no, I saw sometimes ago some posts about this, but can't recall where. try searching in the digiscoping forum may be.

This is a common problem among those who are using cameras, film or digital, without lens threads/adapters. But, one can always hand-hold a converter in front of the camera lens. As long as the lens axes of the converter and the on-camera lens are identical, good quality images can be obtained without much trouble. Practices are required, pf course. The Nikon Coolpix 4500 has not lens thread. So, I did some experiments as reported in the "Wide Angle, Telephoto, etc" page of my 2500 user guide. Hope this helps.
