Default Raynox Wide Angle lenses - are they good ?

Hi peeps,

Just been on the Raynox site and quite like the look of their 0.66x wide angle lens for the S602.

http://www.raynox.co.jp/actualimage/...pro-suimon.jpg

Only worry is that it seems to have a colour bleed on the edges of objects, such as the tree's on the hill line.

Is this a problem with all wide angle lenses or just the Raynox ones? Would I better off with the approved Fuji ones ?

Thanks !

Rikki

I have a Raynox Pro 1850 telephoto lens and the quality of the lens is good. I have not tried the wideangle lens.

Although not the specific lens you mention in your note, the following site includes a Raynox wideangle lense (QW-500 .55w) in its look at wide angle lenses...

Good luck in the search.

Hi there.
I have a tele lens from raynox. The pro... i think.
Not that happy with it.
Why use a superior camera with a low-cost lens. If you spent some money, do it well.
Good luck

Thanks for the replies.

I am tempted now by the 0.5x one now as it doesnt have the awful corner blackening.

Just wondered what people think of it compared to the Fuji own brand stuff.

Thanks
