Default Tiffen MegaPlus lens Adapter for a C-4000Z... whorth it?

I bought an Olympus C-400Z, but the only problem I've heard about it, is that the lens cap could jam the functioning of the zoom if accidentally the camera is turned on with the lenscap on it.
What do you think about this adapter (is it going to solve the problem if an accident happen?), and if the camera wont be very bulky.

Thanks a lot for your time and help

I've only had my C4000 for a short time but leave the Tiffen "tube" attached with a UV filter in place for lense protection. There is no lense clash and the tether on the Olympus cap is long enough to allow that to be used.

I have this same camera and bought the extension tube. I leave it mounted on my camera. Forgetfull as I am, I am always turning on the camera without removing the lens cap. Never had any problems at all. So I think it is good, however, you may want to add a UV filter to the end of the tube and keep it mounted permanetly.

The tiffen tube is a good adapter tube. I have used one in the pass. I now use the Kenko 41mm to 52mm because I bought a telephoto lens. I agree with the others that I would leave the tube on at all times.
