Default Minolta 7i wide angle lense, need help finding one!

I've been searching the internet for a wide angle lense for my Minolta 7i and the only one that I found was the Titanium Optics .45x 52mm Wide Angle Lense. I was hoping if anybody can tell me if this one is any good at all, but I would need to step down the 52mm to 49mm, but I can't find on any site that sells the step down ring for Titanium Optics. Please help if you know of better Wide Angle Lense for the Minolta or have used the Titanium Optics Wide Angle Lense.

FYI

I believe they all vignetted, but it seems like the Olympus WCON-08x are the least offending... for the already 28mm wide D7's.

Hmm,
I'm glad I didn't get that Titanium Optics wide angle lense as it said it was pretty bad. It seems that the only good choice to get is the Olympus Wide Angle lense sense it doesn't vingrette that badly and alittle cropping would get ride of it. Thanx for the reply. I'll still be looking around for more wide angle lense, but if I can't find any I'll look into getting the Olympus lense.

I've tried a couple now and the vignetting has made them useless. At a point where they do not vignette, the extra focal range is modest--hardly worth the effort to screw the lens on. Be careful and try first.....

I have bought this lens for my 7i from ebay(59.95) but havent received it yet- can't wait. Its seems to be a great option for wide angle on the 7i taking it down to under 20mm.

WCON-08E should get you down to 22.4mm; there's no vignetting on my 38mm camera. I can't be sure there won't be any vignetting when used on the 7i, but I can't imagine it being as severe as your example. Except for increased flare, the optics on my WCON-08E are VERY clear.

this is to my really old post that I looked up so I don't have to repost

I'm still using the D7i camera and never bought a wide angle lense yet. But seems a few have crept into my liking including the

-Olympus WCON-0.7C Wide Conversion Lens

-Minolta ZWC-100 w/Adapter Ring (used for the DZ1)

have anybody used these two wide angle lenses on their D7 and what step up/down converter did you use? Any recommendation is welcomed and links to websites. I'm really tempted to buy the ZWC-100 and buy a 49-52 converter ring, but wanted to see if anybody used this before

thanks in advance

All Titanium Optics lenses are bad and can yield very poor edge sharpness and significant chromatic aberration. Since the 7i and A1 have the same lens, you might want to take a look at these two posts http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=17608 and http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=18167 regarding converters for the A1. The Olympus WCON-0.7X can cause vignetting around the corners.
