Default The cutest dog ever!

This is of my dog Z (Norwich Terrier), sitting on her watch post (sentry is perhaps the correct word?), ready to strike at the first sight of a deadly terrorist bird or rat...

The image is shot with a Nikon D100 and Nikkor 28-105 zoom lense. Focal length 46mm, 6.3 aperture and 1/500s shutter speed at ISO 200. Image is scaled down (taken with RAW), sepia setting in the Nikon Editor (6 I think) and very slightly sharpened in photoshop.

Nice shot, but I would do the following to make it my taste:

1. crop the dog tight - there's too much grass in the foreground and too much building in the background. The dog is the main eyecather here, agree ?
2. Looks like a Matrix metering - def. not spot. You should have zoomed more in at the dog - and used centerweight metering. This way the should wouldn't be that much underexposed ( though I now our D100s like to do that by default!!!).
3. I simply don't like sephia for at shot of this kind. I don't see the point in using it here. BUT its a matter of taste isn't it.

Please dont feel hurt about my tough critique - its not meant that way.
