Do you have the lens converter to balance out the flash or do you leave it on all the time? I have heard of people doings so to protect the lens.

Do you already have a conversion lens or is the teleconverter going to be your first?

Sorry to be so nosy and naive, but I really have gotting into photography ever since I got rid of my Olympus C4040 and got my G3. As a matter of fact, I took about 50 shots for a friend and her family. You can see a couple at

What do you think?

I have the LADC58B 58mm lens adapter with a UV filter attached at all times. I purchased it with the camera and have never taken it off. I use it to protect the lens. It's a lot cheaper to replace a UV fllter than the lens. It's also much easier to clean the UV filter.

I may pick up the TC-DC58N teleconverter lens in the next little while. It's about $170 Cdn and I am still trying to justify whether I need it or not.
The only other main accessory (by Canon) is the WC-DC58N wide lens but that runs around $270 Cdn.

Maybe I should get the 250D close-up lens - $160 Cdn.
I know there are other filters I could buy but I still have a lot to learn about what each one does.
I think I better stop right now, at the rate I'm going I'll have spent my life savings

Your portrait shots are wonderful. I love the black and white. Your other shots are nice too. I believe I've seen the sunflower shot posted on another forum.

Anyway, hope the info helps!

Until then, I'm having lots of fun with the cam and I really enjoy getting feedback on forums like this one!
...and you're so right, that's what it's all about isn't it!!! Better equipment makes nobody a better photographer.

Tracy,

I suggest that the money you might consider for a brief moment spending on lens etc. should be used to continue taking care of Tucker instead. Nothing beats a wonderful dog for companionship. lens are great but they're just not as friendly as dogs. All in jest.

In any event great shot. Hope Santa will be kind to you...

Aloha

Don't worry Selvin,
My priorities are straight. I would never consider spending money on a camera if I didn't have enough to spare!
The camera was actually a Christmas present from my parents but I didn't end up buying it until my birthday this past April (needed something to cheer me up- turning 40 and all  ) .

This is a wonderful picture! I love the expression on Tucker's face! I have some lab/g. ret. mix pups and 2 are turning out to look a lot like Tucker, same color and all!
Keep up the good work, I enjoy seeing your pics on the forum's.
