Greg, good job you posted in the question on new dSLR thread otherwise I would have missed this one (I always like to check out the work of people who I don't know when they post replies to questions) andit is a stunning capture. Shutter speed works well to freeze where needed and leave movement in the wings. The face of the dog is great and you are right he does want that bird. You've composed well and the grass makes a nice background to the action.

I've been an admirer of your work for some time. Same thing goes for John G. You both far outclass me in photographic skills.

As for me, thank god for shutter speed.
