I washed the floor and left the door open to dry it. The egret just walked on in. The little cow egret in the background wasnít so bold.

This is a closer look at him. The green mask is unusual and fades and darkens with the seasons.

Did you feed him? Maybe he wanted some food!

Great photo.

I see you live in Indian Rocks Beach.

Many years ago (40) my parents took me to Treasure Island. We started seeing signs about 100 miles north saying see "Indian Rocks". There were many signs and they said different things. I was getting excited and I wanted to stop and see "Indian Rocks". When we got to Indian Rocks, it was a real estate company advertising land for sale! I was disappointed!

I feed him, a heron and a cow egret almost every day. That is hamburger on his beak. But he never just felt free to walk in the house before. He walked into my neighborís house too and they donít feed him. It is behavior you would expect more from a pelican Ė egrets arenít usually as comfortable with people.

I like Indian Rocks Beach but there arenít any real attractions. The big fishing pier blew down in hurricane Elana. and they never rebuilt it. But it is a nice little beach town with little shops, bars and restaurants and isnít wall to wall high-rise. It is the only beach town in the local area that way.
