Default Rusty

Brand new to DSLR shooting, so you'll have to forgive me. Anyway, my first few shots with the T2i (kit lens) are of my only quick subject, my 8-month-old part mini schnauzer part mystery puppy, Rusty. 1st is pre-grooming, second is post. I think I preferred the curls, but he was too matted from the shelter, and it's warming up in Oklahoma, so the cooler cut is probably better for him.

The second shot seemed sharper before I uploaded it. Weird.

I like your second pic' Reminds me of my dog King (different breed, same behavior).

Depending on your method of down rezzing your pic before upload, you may be seeing the result of resizing. I have photoshop elements, and resize using the resize option, which works out well, and retains good sharpness from the original. A good FREE program which will resize individually or in batch, and is easy to use is Irfanview. I use it to resize half a dozen at the time. For just one pic I will use PSE.
