Yup cichlids.

I've been tryng to get some, the *&^% fish won't slow down enough. By the time the camera gets around to takeing a shot the fish are usually gone, a lot of end of tail images so far.

I will post if some If I ever get any
Some day, if I ever get the nikons 5400 burst mode to work right with external strobes.

I posted a pile of pictures of my African Cichlid tank residents to the Aqurium Advice site.

My Aqurium gallery: PeterP's tanks

I used the Nikon 5400 with a wein safesync fireing 2 strobes.
I shut everything off on the camera (no autofocus, manual exposure, no image modifications, etc, and the lag time this way is not too bad).

Nice setup, how much does it cost you monthly to maintain that tank?

Wish I had a 120gal tank. I only ahve a 10gal and a 20gal which I used to use for breeding fresh water fish.

Though that was a while ago. Looking at your tank makes me want to set up a salt water tank

I'll try to do a breakdown of actual usage, blisfully not sure of the costs

daily power consumption is about 3.9 kilowatts or about 117 kilowatts a month in the winter.

heating 2*150 watt heaters on about 25% of the time in the winter
1800watts a day

Lighting daylight on 12 hours a day moonlight on 4 hours
1000watts a day

Filters ehime canister & hob together moving about 700 gph.
1100watts a day

Water @30% replacement in weekly cleaning.
40gals weekly or 160gals a month.

Time consumed, about 3 hours clenaing a week(3 tanks) totaling 170gals.

120gal
33gal
15gal

Comparatively the 33gal is totaling about 980watts a day for heating/lighting/filter
