Default Last Days of a Great Stockdog

Red Dog is 14, practically blind/deaf and now has a tumor that the doc says she only has couple months at the best. She has been a great stockdog for my friend. The miles Red Dog has walked/run working sheep and cattle has to be in the 1000's. When I stay with my friend, every morning Red Dog comes trotting down the hall for me to give her a morning scratch.Took about a 100 photos of Red Dog a weekor so ago, thought I'd share a few.

Fine tribute to a faithful friend and a hard worker. I hope she doesn't suffer too much more.

Great picks. Thanks.
Surely they are better than us.
No questions. Just acceptance.
You can see it in her eyes.

Wonderful photos. In the second one she seems to be thinking "I am not old...I am not blind..I can do it..send me in!...

Unless you have had a dog close to you, you can never appreciate the saying that a dog is man's best friend. Dog is God spelled backwards...

Thanks everyone for looking and the kind words about Red Dog. She is not really suffering, on some kind of medication but my friend has already talked to the doc about puttin her down if she does start to suffer. She cant work stock anymore but likes to go watch..yes with that look in her eye, I can do that.

What a beautiful dog. Reminds me of the Border Collies I have seen in Scotland...managing herds of sheep.

These working dogs are a wonder of intelligence and I find it amazing to watch them work.
