Nice pics, Graham! Your post inspires me to visit a zoo next spring. Since going digital, I have not been to a zoo, almost ten years. Thanks for the post.

Thank you for the feedback Robert, I haven't ever been to a zoo with a camera before! & it's probably my only ever visit since i was a teenager.I recommend the experience!,
I tried not to go for the contrived pics as well but one just can't help it with the little uns in tow. Look forward to the results!. Kind regards Graham.

Oh Hawgwild why wait go now they are just as great now as they are in the spring..Here in Seattle at the woodland Park some of the animals are more active in the cold... Big Horn Sheep, Polar Bears, Deer, Reindeer etc they are better in the cold than the hot sun.. and you live in the south so they are not even yet cold....

Great shots Bluesman..

some nice zoo pics here.

#1- i like the expression, but the oof other monkey or whatever on the left ruins it for me

#2 - nice cute, too bad the white fence behind it, but we all know its a zoo anyways i guess

#3 - the white balance seems off, but maybe that is the real color of them and the ground, but looks a tad red to me.

#4 - really great timing, very nice action shot from the zoo. too bad again about fence, but not much can do about it i guess.

#5 tender big cat moment. get closer to the fence next time and you can throw it totally out of focus.

#6 too much oof foreground distraction for me

#7 - really like this one. make the white a little whiter and fix the little oof blur area next to the left arm and this could easily be used as the background for a logo for the monkey house, etc.

These are some really nice shots. Very well thought out and composed, not your usual zoo shots.

There all very good shots but I would have to pick the zebras as my favorite.
