Hi Zombs,
Ill start the ball rolling,
My opinion, I'm not keen on the composition, the position of the cow in the center of the frame, It seems like there a lot of space thats not too interesting. I think it would have benefited from cropping or changing the viewpoint some.
The tree behind looks like something that could make a great shot. Don't take it to heart its just my opinion, Often a bit of cropping or a slight change of position can make a big difference.
Time of day as well, That shot with the sun coming up or going down could have much more impact. As it's your Girlfriends parents house it sounds like youll have a lot of opportunities to take more around there. Look forward to seeing them. I tried a couple of crops, just to show a change.
Mark

Zombz, I had a go at your pic as well, not as drastic a crop as Mark, and I tweaked the color, contrast and lighting. Don't know if I helped or hurt...

Hi Zombs,
A month's no time at all, Theres great fun to be had changing pics on the computer. I often find I take a pic that looks dissapointing on the back of the camera but with some tweaks in photoshop or similar it really makes it like a different pic or more like what I was thinking of when taking the pic.
Hi Robert,
Think your job on the pic is much better than mine, adjusting the lighting has made it much more interesting and like the crop, makes it all come together real nice.

Hey Zombz,
Robert did a fine job on the fine tuning, but you did take a good pic to start with. It looks like one of those commercial pics for the californig happy cow contest LOL. (you wern't thinking of going back later and doing some cow tipping were ya? it is all the rage here)...Just watch out for the patties!

Personally, I really like the shot... I think the cow standing alone in the large emptiness has
a lot of emotional impact...

On a humorus note the phrase that comes to mind is, "One day son this will all be yours..."

Good job, Zombz...!
