Default Ad shot for a friend

I guess you could call tihs a stupid pet trick, though it was setup to be.

A friend of mine makes custom lanyards for dog trainers, duck hunters, etc.. I offered to help him with some product identity work and photos for website, mailers, and promotional materials. Here was the shot we got:

We are still working on his catch phrase for it all, and the one at the top was just part of a review/story I wrote for our hunting journal. The idea was something like, "Even your dogs know the best."

It was fun to make this shot, but tough get a correct exposure with a black lab and a yellow. Used exposure bracketing each time I setup to give me a wide range of contrasts. Turned out fair, but would have loved to work on it a bit more. Still need to read up on my photogarphy.

This was shot on Cresent Lake in the White Mountains of Arizona - my favorite place to be. The lake was frozen, and if it weren't for the Bailey's and coffee we would've been too.

Any comments welcome.

Default Another from the trip

Here is another shot of a lake in the region. Frozen over with the sun glaring. We had been running the dogs across the ice for some fun and traning. This view caught my eye, with the sun glaring across the ice and pawprints leading away. Can't see it too well in the shrunken version, but looks neat on an 8x10. Also a bit of sun spots that I couldn't block, even using my hand.

Here is Sipe Refuge. A beautiful old ranch that was taken over by local Fish and Game to enhance the White Mountain habitat for a variety of species, the biggest being elk.

G-R-E-A-T photos and wow, what a wonderful pair of dogs!! The first photo, in my opinion, is one certainly worth entering into photo contests.

From the looks of it, your partners and their dogs work well in front of the camera.

You've captured some wonderful memories there, Chael. Thanks for sharing them.
