They do get along ....most of the time. The cat is the boss though and will win any starring contest.

Cats are always boss, or at least the dog allows them that fantasy LOL. Great comp and light, as well as the story, it has all the elements. As usual, you set the bar for the rest of us.

Thanks for the added comments! The lighting is from the sun through a window that lit up the front of the cat and the ledge she is resting on. When I saw the scene unfold in front of me I dashed for the camera and instructed my wife to grab a black coat and hold it up as the backdrop. Just as I was shooting the scene, the dog walked up to take in a few sniffs before upseting the cat, causing her to get up and run away.

I think the dog is hoping that this strange animal type will one day smell better than she does but when she just gives him a nose full of hissssss, it's a big "NOPE" and they both run away in opposite directions.
