Default Weekend in the woods with the dogs

We were at the cabin all weekend and played with the dogs quite a bit. It was 11 while I had them outside; perfect temperature for a Bernese Mountain dog!

Using my T3i and a new Canon EF-S 18-200 F/3.5-5.6 IS, I was playing around with the settings as they ran up and down a trail. My biggest challenge was eliminating blurred shots and to try and bring out the dark shine to their coats. No matter what I was getting plenty of blur when either of them was on the move...and their coats consistently were too dark with no texture until after I played around with them on the computer. Other than some mild cropping, I only adjusted some exposure and tone levels in iPhoto. All of them were taking in Aperture Priority. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Those are nice, sharp shots with the 18-200 at maximum. Pretty models, too!

Love the pics. In a couple of them, the dog actually appears to be smiling.
