Hi-key was the idea I was trying to convey. It was meant to be a mockery of a glamour shot. I guess the intent got lost in the upload. I don't see how a black BG would give us anything other than a low-key shot. I didn't want him to jump off the page. This was shot with a very short DOF to get him to blur into the BG which was matched to his color.
I must not have presented something right as the owner didn't care for this pose either, Oh well art is a subjective thing.
I ahould not waste any more time on this genre and I should not count on it for a paying proposition, Is that what you're telling me?
Wow, the 3718th failled business venture in my photography career. Alas at least I didn't have to buy a special lens like the last two ventures.
What a wonderful hobby we have, I am thankful that is just a hobby and it is not required to feed me!

Here's my opinion: the pet owner has no taste! I think this is a fabulous shot, fully loaded with glamour and great technique. Don't give up on this zillionth business idea just yet. Must be pet owners with good taste somewhere out there.

Vito, it well may be what I want but it wasn't what the owner wanted so the end result is that I still have it and it won't make much of a sandwich between two slices of bread. My question is , do you have any pets I could come photograph ,say around dinner time?

Sorry Vito, but my warped sense of humor forces me to ask. "do the fish taste good as well as being photogenic".
