They swam the first time today in the bath tub. Hehe:

oh my gosh! they are soooo adorable!

great shots! the only problem is the lighting....well..not a

try(if you taking them into a dark room...and using a nice flashlight just on the duckling, leaving the bg all black....that "might" work well, if you can get a bring "focused" flashlight that will allow a fast shutter speed...if not try using a flash but have the duckling far from any walls, so you get the dark background....

have fun :)

nice shots.....adorable little ducklings!

thanks vito.

I know the bg isn't that nice. but this one was more a snapshot than planed.

I guess it's even more difficult to take such a photo with black background and soft light.

I know what you mean, and I'll try that in the next days. But these guys are really fast. (They're indian running ducks), so it ain't easy to catch them in a certain pose.
But I'll post some more the next days.

Thanks for the nice comments. :)

that seems like it would be the major problem...maybe if you have a friend hold the flashlight on them while you lie down and snap a would have to be a bright flashlight....

i don't is sounding harder and harder the more i think about

Yeah, you know I almost believe snapshots are the best you can get of those little guys. You should've seen how they ran around. BUT, I'll keep on shooting.

They're so cute it almost hurts!

Maybe you could convince them you're their mother so they'll sit on your knee quietly while you do portraits of them.:-)

Wow they are very cute!!!

Do you know a lot about ducklings? Cause I jogged to a pond yesterday to take photos, and I noticed some ducklings had a larger black stripe on the top of their heads. I discussed this with my mom, and we think it might indicate gender? If you((or anyone else)) know, please do tell!
